Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor is celebrating another successful year of its annual “Golfin’ for Good Sam” tournament.
The tournament, held on May 3 at Ark City Golf and Fitness, raised $16,000 for the Good Samaritan Program which provides financial support for local Presbyterian Manor seniors who have, at no fault of their own, outlived their financial resources.
“I’ve been involved with this wonderful tournament for more than a decade, and it’s just as fulfilling every year,” said Stacy Pike, tournament coordinator with Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor. “What makes it so special goes beyond the golf course — it’s about the sense of community and shared purpose to help us support our residents.

72 golfers participated in the four-person scramble tournament. The winners of the two flights were:
Flight A 1st Place: Kyle Tipton, Dax Shaw, Jeff Shaw, Cody Nelson
Flight B 1st Place: Michael Mora, Jeff Wood, John Macklin, Ray Dempsey
353 numbered golf balls were raffled as part of the Karl and Dorothy Fadley Memorial Golf Ball Drop prior to tee-off. The winners were Marvin Doyle, Dixie Give, and Stephanie Williams.
“We couldn’t be more grateful to the golfers, our sponsors and donors, and our volunteers” said Pike. “It’s heartwarming to witness this kind of generosity and it makes a difference in the lives of seniors.”
