Local coach George Lowe was in Salina this morning to be honored as the Kansas Coaches Association coach of the year. He also was recognized for a career that has spanned 50 years.
A 1974 graduate of Southwestern College, Lowe has spent his life mentoring young athletes and fostering a love for the game. Currently, he continues to inspire and lead as the junior high girls basketball coach in Burden, while also volunteering his time and expertise with USD 465.
His dedication and passion for coaching have left an indelible mark on the community, and his contributions are celebrated by many.
Coach Lowe expressed his gratitude and affection for the community, stating, “Winfield is awesome.”
His commitment to the town and its athletes is evident in his continued involvement and support.
Lowe was honored this morning at Salina Fieldhouse during a morning session of the KCA. He is pictured above receiving his award.
