A person was in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after being pulled from the water at Island Park in Winfield.
An adult fell into the water and was removed by civilians and emergency personnel, according to Pete Rowley, interim chief and fire marshal with Winfield Fire/EMS. That person was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
No additional information was released and a formal statement will be released at a later time, Rowley said in response to questions from Cowley Post.
A witness at the scene, who contacted Cowley Post, said she watched as an adult was pulled from the water. The incident occurred on the west side of the park in the general area of a waterfall feature of the lagoon.
Cowley Post has since confirmed the injured person was a female
Emergency crews appeared to be administering CPR chest compressions, the witness said. The incident occurred around 4 p.m.
