Arkansas City police said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were in the city Saturday seeking one individual.
According to authorities, the individual and a passenger were uncooperative, prompting additional personnel to respond. The situation temporarily blocked 8th Street, creating a safety concern. Arkansas City police officers assisted with de-escalation and maintaining safety.
No arrests were made by the Arkansas City Police Department, and no force was used by local officers, city spokesperson Shana Adkisson said in an email response to questions from Cowley Post.
