Arkansas City Public Schools has identified several facilities that may be opened to the public during tornadoes or other severe weather events.
USD 470 said the shelters are located at Adams School, 1201 N. 10th; C-4, 11945 292nd Road; Frances Willard School, 201 N. 4th; IXL, 6758 322nd; Jefferson School, 131 Osage; and Roosevelt School, 300 N. B.
District officials said specific entrances will be used at each site if shelters are opened.
USD 470 said every effort will be made to open the shelters to the community after school hours when severe weather threatens.
