Jeffery Paul Maxwell, 55, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at his home in Arkansas City, Kansas, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 9, 1970, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Jeffery graduated from high school in Westminster, Colorado, and served a short time in the United States Navy. He later earned a bachelor’s degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary.
On July 14, 2013, Jeffery married Andrea Paige Hubbard in Brighton, Colorado. He served as Children’s Pastor at Calvary Chapel in Brighton, Colorado. Together, Jeffery and Andrea also led the church’s Sunday School program for six years.
Throughout his life, Jeffery held a variety of roles. He began working on his father’s dairy farm in Fort Collins, Colorado, and later served as a firefighter, wildland firefighter, EMT, telemetry technician, and security guard. In October 2021, he and Andrea moved from Brighton, Colorado, to Arkansas City, Kansas, where they became members of First Baptist Church of Arkansas City.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea; his children, David Maxwell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Katelynn Maxwell-Thomas and her husband, Arzae Maxwell-Thomas, of Arkansas City, along with their daughter, Karynna; and Miriam Maxwell of Arkansas City.
He is also survived by his father and stepmother, Larry and Mary Maxwell of Athens, Tennessee; his mother, Susan Bryaon of Wilmington, Delaware; his sister Elizabeth Bryson of Wilmington, Delaware; and his stepchildren, Kenneth Kittelson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Arcadia Kittelson of Weston, Connecticut.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, at First Baptist Church in Arkansas City.
