Jeanette Louise Brown, 79, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Friday, April 3, 2026 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City, with a visitation held from 5-6 P.M. before services. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church for D.W.F. or to Cowley County Humane Society. Donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.
Jeanette was born on July 25, 1946, in Lamont, OK to parents Harold and Dortha Mae (McDonald) Bilyeu. She attended Gueda Springs High School and graduated from South Haven High School. On December 27, 1964, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bruce Brown. Jeanette loved painting, crocheting, collecting John Wayne platters, and her pets. She was very involved in Central Christian Church of Ark City, singing in the choir, serving as president of the Friendly Circle Club, secretary of the Ladies' Community Club, and D.W.F. She was also the worship leader for many years and loved all of her church family deeply.
Jeanette is survived by her husband Bruce, son Marcus Brown (Lacy), daughters Leigh Ann Barber (Thomas) and Denise Schutt, grandchildren Daniel, Justin, Austin, Weston, Josh, Ashley, and Brandee, and numerous great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
