Jeanne Denise Davis-Trefethen, 55, of Burden, Kansas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 7, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center.
Born March 6, 1971, in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Martin “Marty” and Gloria (Kelly) Davis. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1989. After high school, she went to work at Binney & Smith, working in several capacities including forklift driver. She remained at Binney & Smith until its closing in 1997. She then attended Cowley County Community College graduating with an Associate degree in Criminal Justice. During this time, she worked as an Assistant Manager at Wendy’s.
She worked at Rubbermaid for a number of years, where she met Denis Trefethen. The couple were married on February 14, 2005 in Winfield where they made their home. They would later move to Burden where Jeanne was a dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother.
She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. She enjoyed shopping, collecting candles, going to craft fairs, riding dune buggies, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Her family includes her husband Denis Trefethen of Burden; her sons, Jonathan Austin and wife, Faith of Hutchinson; Trystan Trefethen of Burden; her mother Gloria Davis of Winfield; her brother Jeff Davis of Winfield; her sister Jamie Harrod and husband, Todd of Winfield; and her grandchildren, Journey, Brenton, Braden, Waylon, and John.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her father.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Service.
A memorial has been established in Jeanne’s name for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
