Linda A. Nida
1946-2026

Linda Ann Nida, 80, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Westview of Derby Health Care Center.

Born February 26, 1946, in Atlanta, Kansas, she was the daughter of Herman O. and Evelyn Claudine (Wright) Dudeck. She was raised in Atlanta and rural Cowley County. Following Linda’s high school graduation, she attended a beauty school, earning a beauty certificate.

She married Kenneth Everett Nida, and the couple established their home in Joplin, Missouri where Linda had an in-home beauty shop for many years. The couple later divorced, and Linda moved to Winfield. Back in Cowley County, she worked in housekeeping at Cumbernauld Village for over 20 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed watching KU sports, especially basketball, and gardening. Linda was a big crafter, using materials such as stained glass, clay, and paint. She also liked to make door wreaths.

Her family includes her daughter, Christi Samples and husband, Arlen of Winfield; sister Debra Dudeck; brother Rod Dudeck and wife, Bernice of New Salem; two fur grandbabies, Petey Pablo and Hunter McGee; and a niece and nephew, Amy and Rod.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in Linda’s name for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
