Anna May Wilkinson
1929-2026

Anna May Wilkinson, 96, longtime Arkansas City resident, died Thursday, April 16, 2026 at the Medicalodges of Arkansas City.

She was born on December 5, 1929 in Lymon, Oklahoma. Anna was raised in the Shidler and Webb City, Oklahoma area.

She married Leo Elmer Wilkinson on December 1, 1947 in Arkansas City, Kansas. They continued to live and raise their children in Arkansas City. Leo died on March 19, 1982.

Anna enjoyed being with her family. She was always sewing, crocheting and crafting, making quilts, afghans, clothing and numerous other items for family and friends.

Survivors include her sons Leo G. Wilkinson of Arkansas City, RB Wilkinson of Augusta, Kenny Wilkinson of Arkansas City; daughter Sue Whatley of Arkansas City; her brother John E. Fisher of Arkansas City; sisters Jane Fritchey of Newkirk, Oklahoma and Bessie Stewart of Arkansas City; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Anna is preceded in death by her father Irbra Mills; mother Mary Ellen Graham Fisher; step-father John Lynn Fisher; husband; son Dale Elmer Wilkinson; brothers Jimmy W. Mills, Gilbert W. Mills and Billy W. Mills.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 28 at the West Kansas Avenue Church of God, 403 W. Kansas Avenue, Arkansas City, Ks. 67005 with Jess Fisher officiating.

Inurnment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City.

The family has entrusted Anna’s care with Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita, Kansas.
