Ruthie Clifford
1950-2026

Ruth Marie Clifford, 75, of Winfield, KS passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Wesley Woodlawn Hospital with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday June 7th at Central Baptist Church in Winfield. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM Saturday June 6th at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church; donations may be left in the care of the Funeral Home.

Ruthie was born on September 27, 1950 in Arkansas City, KS the daughter of Paul and Audie (Vicars) Dickson. She attended Arkansas City schools. Ruthie was united in marriage to Randall Clifford on May 15, 1971 and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Ruthie loved cooking and serving people, she worked as a cook at The State Hospital, William Newton Hospital and Southwestern College for many years. She also served in the kitchen at church. Ruthie enjoyed scrapbooking, going to the Walnut Valley Festival and attending Central Baptist Church, which she started attending in the 80’s, and spending time with her grandkids and best friend Linda.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Clifford, daughter, Michelle Clifford, grandchildren: Tristan, Alessa, Trey, Ashleigh, Liam, and Elijah; great-grandchildren Tobias, Caden, Silas, and Ophelia; son-in-law, Ellis Murphree, siblings: Cindy Coats (Charlie), Mike Clifford (Sharon), Roy Clifford, Chuck Rainford (Jan), John Rainord (Debbie), and Susan Fyffe (David). She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sonja Murphee, brother Max Dickson and sister Jeanne Strausburg.
