Fans attending Cowley College athletic events this school year will notice a major new addition hanging above the court at W.S. Scott Auditorium.

The college has installed a new center-hung scoreboard featuring video displays on all four sides, replacing the previous scoreboard that had served the facility for years. The new scoreboard, installed by Digital Scoreboards, is expected to make its public debut during the Orange and Black volleyball scrimmage on Aug. 14.

The upgraded display will serve as the centerpiece for home contests involving the Tiger men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling, cheer and dance programs. W.S. Scott Auditorium also hosts the college’s annual Dodgeballah event and a variety of community activities throughout the year.

“This new scoreboard will create an enhanced and energetic atmosphere for competition while giving our fans a more engaging and enjoyable game-day experience,” Cowley Athletic Director Jeff Fluty said. “It truly is an investment in our student-athletes, our devoted fan base, and the future of Cowley Athletics.”

The project was made possible through a gift from the family of Rob and Brooke Istas, longtime supporters of Cowley athletics.

“Rob and Brooke Istas have consistently demonstrated an outstanding commitment and loyalty to Cowley Athletics and our student-athletes,” Fluty said. “Their generous gift for the new center-hung scoreboard reflects The Tiger Way by investing in competitive excellence, celebrating the pride of success, and providing a first-class experience for our teams and fans. We are incredibly grateful for their continued support and the lasting impact they have on our athletic programs.” Continue below ad.

For Brooke Istas, the donation reflects the family’s desire to give back to a college that has played an important role in their lives.

“As a longtime employee and former student, Cowley has been so important to me, and Rob was big in sports when he went to college,” Istas said. “We felt the scoreboard would be a way to support the students and the community, too.”

Istas said the family hopes the scoreboard will continue serving Cowley College well into the future, benefiting generations of student-athletes and fans.
