Advance voting is happening locally as Aug. 4 primary election approaches

Advance voting is underway in Cowley County ahead of the Aug. 4 primary election, with early voting available in both Winfield and Arkansas City over the next two weeks.

The Cowley County Clerk’s Office began in-person advance voting Monday at the South Annex, 321 E. 10th Ave. in Winfield. Voting there will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through July 31. Additional voting hours are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, and from 8 a.m. to noon Monday, Aug. 3.

A second advance voting location will open Monday, July 27, at the Arkansas City Water Treatment Plant, 400 W. Madison. That site will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through July 31. Continue below ad.

Voters who prefer to cast a ballot by mail may request one by contacting the Cowley County Clerk’s Office at 620-221-5494 or by email at [email protected].

The primary election will be held Tuesday, Aug. 4. Voters can verify their registration status, locate polling places and view a sample ballot by visiting KansasVoterInfo.gov.
