Ark City boys and girls drop games at Andover Central; Valley Center next

The AC boys will look to bounce back Tuesday at Valley Center after a 71-60 loss at Andover Central that drops them to 6-14 on the season.

The Bulldogs chipped away at a 40-28 halftime deficit and cut it to 48-45 early in the fourth quarter before the Jaguars were able to create some separation late.

Andover Central (9-13) was led by Drew Bontrager with 20 points, while Carter Inslee added 16.

AC got 19 points from Jaxon Jackson, and Drayden Camp delivered a career-high 17 in a strong effort.


The AC girls will also be at Valley Center on Tuesday as they try to snap a three-game skid following a 52-43 loss at Andover Central.

The loss moves AC to 6-14, while Andover Central improves to 13-8.

Lainey Tyner led the Jaguars with 20 points, connecting on six three-pointers, as the hosts built a lead that reached 19 in the fourth quarter.

Maliyah Bell and Gracie Phillips led the Bulldogs with 16 points apiece.
