Ark City Fire/EMS responded to a reported structure fire in the 1500 block of North 5th Street late Sunday night.
According to a news release from the fire department Wednesday, crews were called to the scene at approximately 10:30 p.m. and when they arrived, found fire in an exterior wall of the residence.
The fire was under control within 30 minutes of arrival.
Firefighters remained on the scene for an additional hour to ensure all hot spots were extinguished and the area was secure, Ark City Fire/EMS said.
Winfield Fire/EMS responded and assisted with operations. One person was evaluated on scene for smoke inhalation.
The cause is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $10,000.
