Arkansas City police issued 23 seat belt citations during this year’s Click It or Ticket enforcement campaign.
The campaign ran from May 17 through June 1 and included increased patrol efforts aimed at encouraging seat belt use and educating motorists about traffic safety.
According to the Arkansas City Police Department, officers issued 17 speeding citations, 23 seat belt violations, two citations for texting while driving, 37 hazardous moving violations and 43 other traffic citations during the enforcement period. Police also reported one arrest for driving with a suspended license. Continue below ad.
The Click It or Ticket campaign is conducted annually by law enforcement agencies across the country and is designed to increase seat belt use and reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities.
