WINFIELD — Fire crews were called to a structure fire early Tuesday at a home in the 1400 block of Menor Street.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 8:50 a.m. and found smoke and flames coming from the southwest corner of the residence, according to the Winfield Fire Department. Fire units were able to extinguish the blaze quickly.
Two people were inside the home at the time of the fire and escaped safely. No injuries to civilians or first responders were reported.
The fire is under investigation by the Winfield Fire/EMS Investigation Team and the Winfield Police Department. The cause is believed to be arson. Continue below ad.
