The City of Ark City has announced changes to its public entrance policy.
According to a news release Monday morning, City Hall will have only two designated public entrances beginning Monday.
They will be the main entrance on Central Avenue and the handicapped entrance on the north side of the building.
“Visitors are encouraged to use the main entrance located on Central Avenue for general access to the City Hall building,” the city stated. “The handicapped entrance, situated on the north side of the building, will also serve as a public entrance. This entrance is equipped with elevator access.”
The city said the door on the west side, nearest to the corner of First Street and Central Avenue, and the door in the alleyway on the east side of the building will be locked and designated solely for employee use.
The city the changes were made to “enhance security measures and ensure safety of all visitors and employees.”
