A Leon man was taken to the hospital Monday morning after a semi left the road and overturned along U.S. 160 in Cowley County, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report.
The crash happened about 8:25 a.m. in the 3000 block of U.S. 160 west of Winfield. Troopers said a 2022 Freightliner box truck driven by 44-year-old Allen Anthony Clark was headed east when it went off the roadway, struck a ditch, crossed 31st Road, hit an Evergy utility pole and overturned.
Clark suffered sustained minor injuries and was taken to South Central Kansas Medical Center. He was wearing a seat belt, the report said.
The truck, registered in Illinois, was removed from the scene by B&L Towing.
Evergy crews then spent several hours repairing damage done to the power pole and lines.
