Leadership Cowley County is now accepting applications for its Fall 2026 leadership development program.
The community leadership initiative is designed to help participants strengthen their leadership abilities, expand their understanding of local issues and build relationships throughout Cowley County.
Organizers say the program is intended both for individuals who already recognize their leadership potential and for those looking to develop new skills and confidence. Participants receive training focused on personal and civic leadership while learning about community resources, challenges and opportunities across the county.
The program incorporates curriculum developed by the Kansas Leadership Center and includes visits to locations throughout Cowley County. Leadership Cowley County officials say participants gain a deeper understanding of their own leadership styles while developing professional connections and networking opportunities.
Upon completing the program, participants will have enhanced leadership skills, greater awareness of community needs and assets, expanded professional relationships and increased opportunities for personal growth and self-reflection.
The Fall 2026 class will include two full-day sessions and five half-day afternoon sessions. Meeting dates are Aug. 28; Sept. 11 and 25; Oct. 9 and 23; and Nov. 6 and 20. Participants will also take part in a day of service on Nov. 10.
Tuition is $150. Applicants who register before July 31 will receive a $50 early-bird discount. Scholarship assistance may be available and can be requested during the application process.
Applications will be accepted through Aug. 17 or until the class reaches capacity.
