One of five finalists will be named Queen Alalah XCIII Friday night during a coronation that is part of this week’s Arkalalah festivities.
After three days of online voting, Cowley College students, faculty, staff, and administrators selected the following women as finalists, listed alphabetically: Kinley Botts, Delaney Colquhoun, Lauren Howerton, Grace Knight, and Caitlyn Woods.
The new queen will be crowned during the annual Coronation Ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Robert Brown Theatre on the Cowley College campus in Arkansas City. Those attending the event will cast ballots to determine who will be the next Queen Alalah.
Tickets are $8 for advance reserved seating and are available at the Arkalalah Office, 106 South Summit Street in Arkansas City.
The coronation is a highlight of the annual Arkalalah celebration, a community festival held each fall that features parades, contests, entertainment, and long-standing local traditions.
