The K&O Railroad will temporarily close its crossing on U.S. 77 between Fifth and Sixth streets in Winfield later this month to allow for repair work.
According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, the roadway at the railroad crossing will be fully closed from June 20 through June 23, weather permitting.
Motorists traveling through the area will be directed to follow an official state detour route utilizing U.S. 77, K-55, K-15, U.S. 81 and U.S. 160. Drivers may also use alternate local routes that are not marked. Continue below ad.
KDOT advises travelers to plan ahead and allow additional travel time while the work is underway.
