Arkansas City Public Schools will again provide free summer meals for children throughout the community beginning next month.
According to information released by USD 470, free meals will be available for all children ages one to 18 from June 1 to June 26. No registration is required, and children do not have to be enrolled in USD 470 to participate.
Meals will be offered at several school and community locations across Arkansas City as part of the district’s summer meals program designed to help children continue to have access to healthy meals while school is out for the summer.
School meal sites operating Monday through Thursday include Arkansas City High School, Arkansas City Middle School and Frances Willard Elementary School. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
The district will also provide meals at selected bus stop and community locations Monday through Friday.
The full summer meals schedule includes:
• Arkansas City High School, 1200 W. Radio Lane — breakfast from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch from 11 to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
• Arkansas City Middle School, 400 E. Kansas Ave. — breakfast from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch from 11 to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
• Frances Willard Elementary School, 221 W. Pine Ave. — breakfast from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch from 11 to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
• Wilson Park, 1605 N. Fourth St. — lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Paris Park, 500 N. Eighth St. — lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• South Central Kansas Medical Center, 6401 Patterson Parkway — lunch from noon to 12:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Cumbernauld Village, 1515 N. Second St. — lunch from 12:20 to 12:35 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Skyline Apartments, 2500 N. Fifth St. — lunch from 12:40 to 12:55 p.m., Monday through Friday.
