A Wellington High School graduate was killed early Sunday after being struck by a pickup truck in a hit-and-run crash in west Wichita.
Adam Condit, 29, died after being hit by a truck shortly after midnight, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies, along with Sedgwick County EMS and the Wichita Fire Department, were called around 12:06 a.m. Sunday to the 5800 block of West Windmill Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Witnesses stopped to assist and called 911 after the pickup truck left the scene.
Despite life-saving efforts, Condit died at the scene.
Based on preliminary findings and debris recovered at the crash site, investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a black Dodge Ram 1500 pickup from model years 2013 through 2022.
Authorities say the truck was last seen traveling west on Windmill Road toward 13th Street North and Ridge Road. The vehicle is expected to have noticeable damage to the front driver’s side, including a broken grille.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Team and detectives continue to investigate.
