The Winfield Police Department’s annual Community Night Out event returns Friday evening, giving the community a chance to interact with area first responders and non-profit organizations, a press release from the WPD said.
The event is from 5 to 7 p.m. at Island Park in Winfield.
The evening will start off with a free grilled hot dog, chips, and a drink, prepared by the Winfield Lions Club. Area emergency responders will be on hand to answer questions from the public, as well as demonstrate the equipment they use to perform their duties.
Two bounce houses and free henna tattoos will be available for those in attendance, sponsored by the Winfield Police Department and Winfield Fire & EMS. Entertainment will be provided on the Rotary Performance Stage.
Gift baskets donated by the presenting organizations will be given away at the end of the event, and goodie bags will be handed out to children in attendance (while supplies last).
Winfield Community Night Out is an annual event held in October.
It is a collaborative effort between several area organizations. This year’s event committee consists of representatives from: The Winfield Police Department, Winfield Fire and EMS Department, City-Cowley County Health Department, SAFE Kids Cowley County, William Newton Hospital, Winfield Recreation Commission, and the Winfield Arts and Humanities Council.
