WINFIELD — William Newton Hospital was placed on lockdown for about 15 minutes this afternoon because of a security concern, according to hospital spokesperson Sarah Johnson.
Johnson said hospital administration worked with the Winfield Police Department and determined there was no threat to the hospital or to patients.
The lockdown was lifted once the situation was cleared, and normal operations resumed.
Hospital officials said patient and staff safety remains a top priority.
