Winfield police arrest 18-year-old female after vehicle strikes residence

An 18-year-old Winfield woman was arrested last week after a vehicle struck a residence, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle crash in the 1800 block of E. Seventh Ave. at approximately 1:48 a.m. on Wed., Jan. 21.

During the investigation, officers learned the suspect had taken a vehicle following an altercation. While driving, the vehicle crossed the street and struck a garage and porch of a residence, as well as a parked, unoccupied vehicle, causing damage, according to information provided by Police Chief Robbie DeLong.

An individual on foot was believed to have been struck or bumped by the vehicle during the incident. That person was evaluated by emergency medical services at the scene but was not transported.

The vehicle was later located in the 600 block of Alexander in Winfield. The suspect fled on foot but was later located by officers.

Talyn Blenden was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, no proof of insurance and duty to report an accident. She posted bond the day of the incident and was released.
