A 31-year-old Winfield man is behind bars following a Dec. 21 shooting at an apartment complex.
On Jan. 4, Rocky Leroy Brown was arrested without incident on a felony warrant for attempted first-degree murder stemming from the incident at Walnut Towers, 1201 Menor St. A 24-year-old man was transported to a Wichita hospital for treatment.
Police Chief Robbie DeLong said investigators believe the suspect and victim knew each other and that the shooting was an isolated incident. Officers were dispatched to the complex around 4 a.m. Officials have said the incident occurred in a common area at the apartments.
Brown is in custody, but police are still searching for Joshua Paul Pourciau, 29, of Winfield, who also has an active warrant. Authorities believe Pourciau may be somewhere in Kansas, Arkansas, or Louisiana.
