Winfield police seek public’s help in aggravated burglary case

​Winfield police are seeking the public’s help regarding a report of possible attempted aggravated burglary.

According to a news release from Cowley County Crime Stoppers Monday, officers from the Winfield Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of East 4th Avenue at approximately 7 p.m. on Nov. 30 for the report of a possible attempted aggravated burglary.

The suspect attempted to force their way into a residence which was occupied at the time of the crime, police say.

Officers canvased the area looking for potential evidence along with checking for video from surrounding neighbors to assist with the identification of the suspect(s), Crime Stoppers said.

​Anyone with information regarding this crime, or any crime that occurred in Cowley County is eligible to receive a reward by submitting a tip through Crime Stoppers by calling (620) 221-7777.

Tipsters are always anonymous- Crime Stoppers will never ask someone to identify themselves.  If your information leads to an arrest in a felony case, you could be eligible to receive rewards up to $2,500.
