WPD seeking public’s help in identifying attempted robbery suspect

The Winfield Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect in an attempted robbery case.

According to a press release from the WPD Wednesday, officers were dispatched at 8:01 a.m. Wednesday to 1902 East 9th Avenue in Winfield at the Valero Gas Station for a report of an attempted robbery.

During the initial investigation, officers learned that the suspect had entered the store demanding money from the store employee and fled the store on foot as other customers entered the store during the incident.

The suspect was described as being a white male wearing a black in color hooded sweatshirt, greyish blue in color pajama type pants with white accents. As of this time it is believed this was an isolated incident and there is no indication of a threat to the public.
