Marjorie Marie Sweeney

Marjorie Marie Sweeney, 74, died Saturday, November 8, 2025 at her home in Bel Aire, Kansas with her family by her side.

She was born on March 21, 1951 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Alvin and Elsie Niblock Wallsmith. Marjorie moved to Winfield, Kansas and attended school up until her senior year where she graduated from Claremore, Oklahoma.

Marjorie married Thomas Kevin Sweeney on July 26, 1979 in Winfield. She worked at Binney & Smith Crayola Factory in Winfield for almost 20 years until it closed in 1997. Marjorie and Tom later moved to the Wichita area where they worked at Raytheon Aircraft until retiring.

Marjorie enjoyed playing golf and traveling and the highlight of her life was being the best Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending all their activities.

She also enjoyed her trips to the casino with her sister Susie.

Survivors include her husband Tom of the home; daughters Lisa Woods and husband Greg of Winfield, Melissa Parker and husband Ian of Mulvane; step-daughter Aidan Brown and husband Rod of Louisville, Kentucky; brother David Wallsmith of Leavenworth, Ks.; sisters Sharon Rozell of Winfield, Susie Hall of Burden, Ks.; grandchildren Taylor Woods of Oklahoma City, Conner Woods and wife Brook of Chandler, Tx., Gage Parker and wife Gabriella, Bryce Parker and wife Sadie, Jace Parker all of Mulvane, Eric Lolar, Jr. and wife Janae of Springfield, Mo., and Miles Brown of Louisville, Ky.; and four great grandchildren Kash Parker, Riley Parker, Charlotte Parker, and Ariella Lolar.

Marjorie is also survived by her brother-in-law’s and their wives Mike Sweeney and Stella of Leander, Tx., and Mark Sweeney and Sheli of Topeka; along with her half-sisters Peggy Murphy and husband Pat, and Nancy, Evelyn, and Debbie

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Donnie Wallsmith.

A Celebration of Life will be held between 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M., Friday, November 21st at The Lodge At Warren Riverview Park, 321 West Market Street, Derby, KS 67037.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Victory in the Valley of Wichita or St. Judes Children Hospital.
