Alice Faye Sanborn, 83, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away early Saturday morning, October 25, 2025, at Winfield Senior Living.
Born October 7, 1942, in Jefferson City, Missouri, she was the daughter of Walter Stockner and Faye (June) Perkins. She was raised and received her education in Arkansas City. She attended Cowley County Community College where she received a Vo-Tech Certificate.
Alice was united in marriage to Merl D. “Pete” Sanborn on June 2, 1962 at the American Baptist Church in Arkansas city. The couple made their home in Ark City. Alice waitressed at Ma & Pops Restaurant and was a loving homemaker, wife, and mother. She also worked at Givens Fur Company and was a security officer at Future Beef. Merl preceded her in death on March 24, 2021.
Her family includes her daughter Kelly W. Lambdin and husband, Kevin of Arkansas City; her four grandchildren, Matthew A. Lambdin and wife, Sammi; Chyenne W. Lambdin and Matthew Nunn; Syghler M. Lambdin and Kurt Mount; and Samantha S. Wittwer and husband, Kyle; and her great grandchildren, Brody Halaquist, Kaleb Dean Wittwer, Donovan Thomas Wittwer, and Elliana Ruth Wittwer.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by a son Darryl D. Sanborn, sister Nancy K. Swallow, brother-in-law Homer Swallow, and brothers Tommy E. Perkins, and Jimmy A. Perkins.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. No services are scheduled.
