Billy Joe Atkins, 74, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026, at the Kansas Veterans Home.
Billy was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 11, 1951. He was drafted into the United States Army in March of 1970 and served in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in March of 1972. Billy earned several medals from his service.
Memorial services with Military Committal Honors will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
Memorials have been established in Billy’s name for the American Legion Post 10 or for the VFW Post 3544. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
