1941-2025
Charles “Allen” Askins, 84, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 30, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born January 3, 1941, in Burden, Kansas, he was the son of George Walter and Inez Elizabeth (Tomkins) Askins. He was raised and received his education in Winfield.
He was united in marriage to Lois Meier on June 9, 1961, in Winfield. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife Lois Askins; sons, Todd (Tammy) Askins; Therone (Lea Ann) Askins; three granddaughters; six great granddaughters; two great grandsons; a brother Ronald; and a sister Elaine.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by twin sons, sisters, Barbara and Janet, grandson Braden Askins, brother-in-law Roger Meier, and sister-in-law Joyce Askins.
Private family services will be held at a later date under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
A memorial has been established in Allen’s name for Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
