Darren Matthew Miller, 36, of Wichita, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born on November 6, 1988 in Wichita, KS. Darren graduated high school in Arkansas City, KS and was awarded a dual Track and Basketball Scholarship to Cowley College.
Darren walked with the spirit of our Heavenly Father held close to his heart. His life on earth with loved ones has come to an end. Darren had many mentors and caregivers through his youth: Coach Eric Lolar, The Henderson Family, The Tatum/Nelson Family, along with other family members and life long friends that fostered him, loved him, and helped guide him through. Darren became a proud father in his early adulthood with his high school sweetheart, Ciara Hoy. He was the handsome Basketball player and she was the beautiful Cheerleader that caught his eye and heart. He loved all of his children very much and only wanted the best for them. He enjoyed being with loved ones at Holiday gatherings. Darren had a very big heart. He was a humble and simple man. Monetary things were of no value to him. Darren was a hard working man of many trades but spent many years working in the oilfield industry. The Chiefs were his number one Team and he loved the team rival banter with his brother, John, trying to convince him they were the best! In Darren’s later years in life, he enjoyed meditation, working out, and the focus and discipline it gave him. He loved reading his Bible at peaceful and solemn times. It always gave him strength within through his struggles. Darren touched the lives of many. Darren’s gentle spirit will live on forever through all of his children. He has become our guardian Angel from above. He will be greatly missed by all. See ya on the other side D.
Survivors include: Krayton Hoy, Jade Hoy, Kross Hoy his children with his Long Time Companion, Ciara Hoy of Wichita; and Tytus Miller to Taylor Cushenbery of Arkansas City; Mother: Misty Miller-Rowe of Wichita; Brother: John Miller and Laken of Arkansas City; Sister: Marissa Miller of Arizona; Grandmother: Sherry Miller of Winfield; Sister in Law: Devyn Hoy-Cox and Chris of Anthony; Mother in Law: DJay Hoy-McCall and Doug of Wichita; Grandmother in Law: Sue Fiering of Anthony; and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews, other extended family members and lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
