Debrah Jo Smith
1958 - 2025

Debrah Jo Smith, 67, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at her home.

Born October 7, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Russell William Brown and Nancy Jo “Jody” (Utt) and Bob Odell. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1976.

She married Jon Moore on October 16, 1976, at the First Baptist Church in Winfield. To this union, two sons were born. The couple later divorced. Debrah lived in many places throughout her life including Ponca City, Oklahoma and Amarillo, Texas. She returned to Winfield in 2008 to be near family. She also had many occupations including working as a nail tech at Nails Etc. in Wichita, working as Clerk at the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, and working as an EMT in Winfield. She enjoyed many different crafts including crocheting and working with stained glass. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winfield.

Her family includes her parents, Bob and Jody Odell of Winfield; her sons, Rusty Moore and wife, Amber of Arkansas City; and Charles Moore and husband, Kevin of Mulvane; her sister Jana McDade and husband, Dennis of Winfield; her grandchildren, Christopher Moore, Emma Moore, Josh Moore, Davyn Moore, and Mallory Moore; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Debrah was preceded in death by her father Russell William Brown and her brother Robert G. Odell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 14, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Debrah’s name for First Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
