Delmarie Sue Karlin
1947-2025

Delmarie Sue Karlin, 78, of Winfield, KS passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

There are no services scheduled at this time; arrangements are in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home. 

Dela was born on January 6, 1947, in Wichita, KS to parents Delmar and Betty Cox. She attended Goddard High School.  In 1981 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Leo Karlin Sr. She moved to Texas with him and started working for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 17 years as the head shipping clerk for overseas shipment of specialized products controlled by the DEA. She also worked at Corner Bank as a teller for several years. She did the farm books for K-State's CPA Ken Miller for 10 years, and also did the books for a local oil well service company.

Dela was a beautiful woman, devoted wife and the best cook a man could have, making the best pumpkin bread, peanut brittle and pecan pralines anywhere.

The family would like to express their thanks to the excellent care they received from Angels Hospice Care.

She is survived by her husband, sister Kathy Madrigal, daughter Yvonne Blackwell (Josh), son Garry Hoyer; grandchildren: Clay  Armstrong(Jordan), Chase Mclemore, Tyler Blackwell, Zachary Hoyer (Jessica), Ashlynn Lockwood (Mike); great-grandchildren: Abel, Carter, Evangeline, Evren, and Remington; step-sons, Leo Karlin Jr. (Eileen), Darrin Karlin (Lisa), Mark Karlin (Michelle) Cris Karlin (Twila), step-daughter Kim Bruce (John), 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
