Dennis Wayne Moore, 68, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, at Winfield Senior Living.
Born August 15, 1957, in Winfield, he was the son of Kenneth and Sarah Elaine (Keathley) Moore. He was raised and received his education in Winfield. He joined the United States Army in 1978, proudly serving his country for three years before receiving an honorable discharge.
Dennis married Marci Fry in 1983. Together, they raised their three children in Winfield where Dennis worked at Calmar and Binney & Smith. The couple later divorced in 2002.
He later began his career at Morton Buildings where he remained until retiring as an Inventory Specialist in 2020. During his youth, Dennis played baseball and football. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, swimming, going to Silver Creek, the Tunnell Mill Dam, and the Winfield City Lake, people watching at the park, and hanging out and fishing with his grandkids. He also enjoyed going to the casino and driving around with his dog Fancy.
His family includes his children, Sarah Harrod (David); Devin Moore; Jacob Moore; Ashley McGregor; brothers, Kenny Moore; Bill Moore (Holly); his sisters, Kris Platter (Doug); Robin McCoy (Jerry Reinhart); Angie Jones; Mindy Bidwell (Matt); and his grandchildren, Piper Bruce, Ameighya Moore, Ariannah Moore, Bentley Moore, Pierce Harrod, Rowan Moore, Maddox Harrod, Daxtyn Harrod, Barrett Moore, Camille Freeman, Benton Moore, and Taegan Moore.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by a brother Tim Moore, and a brother-in-law Jr. Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment with military committal honors will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home for Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 2 to 6 PM. The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4 that afternoon.
A memorial has been established in Dennis’ name for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
