Derek G. Koller
1980-2025

Derek G. Koller, 45, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday evening, November 3, 2025, at his home.

Born September 13, 1980, in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Donald Koller, Jr. and Lisa Swigert Koller. He was raised and received his early education in Derby and moved to Wellington during high school. He graduated Wellington High School in 1999. He then attended Cowley County Community College where he graduated as a Paramedic. Derek worked for Cowley County EMS for a number of years while attending Southwestern College.

He was united in marriage to Maricel Oliveros on January 7, 2003 in Wichita. The couple made their home in Winfield where Derek finished his degree in Biology at Southwestern in 2004. He opened Heddonpal Gun Parts as well as Landrush Antique Mall in Arkansas City. He later opened Landrush Liquidation, a pallet liquidation company. He closed the antique mall while battling cancer, and in July of 2022, he was able to reopen Landrush Antique Mall at its new location. He continued to run all three businesses at the time of his passing. Derek had recently received another Bachelor degree in Bio-Chemistry from Southwestern as well as a Master’s degree from Wichita State University.   

His family includes his wife Maricel Koller of Winfield; his sons, David and Ethan Koller of Winfield; his mother Lisa Koller and fiancé, Ted Lewis of Arkansas City; his father Donald Koller and wife, Rachel of Guntersville, Alabama; his sisters, Amanda White and husband, Phil of Albion, IL; Isabella Koller of Guntersville, Alabama; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins. 

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 10, 2025, at First Southern Baptist Church in Arkansas City under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in Derek’s name for the South Kansas Symphony. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
