Diane Gail Klinkon, 82, lifelong Winfield resident, died Wednesday, June 24, 2026, surrounded by family.
She was born on December 1, 1943, the daughter of George and Ethelene Newbold. Diane attended Holy Name School and graduated from Winfield High School in 1961.
She married John Klinkon on October 10, 1964 and was a lifelong member of Holy Name Catholic Church.
For over thirty years, Diane worked at William Newton Memorial Hospital as a nurse assistant in the obstetrics and surgery departments.
Spending time with her family was important to Diane. She is survived by her husband John; son David Klinkon and his wife Kelly of Leawood, Kansas; daughter Kim Strand and her husband Paul of Happy Valley, Oregon; grandchildren Graeme Klinkon, Brooks Klinkon, Katherine Klinkon, and Sascha Strand; sisters Georgine Herrington of Winfield and Delores Center of Weir, Kansas.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Kay Francis Marsh and Lois Yvonne Smith.
The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 24 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Name Catholic Church, 412 E 8th Ave, Winfield, Kansas 67156.
Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1938 E 12th Street, Winfield, Kansas 67156
