Donald “Donnie” Wayne Dutton, 40, of Winfield, KS, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 at William Newton Hospital.
Memorial services are scheduled at 11AM Tuesday, May 19, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield. Memorials in his name may be made to the Katelyn Dutton scholarship fund at RCB Bank and left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.
Donnie was born on June 8, 1985 in Winfield, KS to parents Nelson Mark and Ramona Rae (Hatch) Dutton. He graduated from Winfield High School in 2004 and then joined the US Army to serve his country, he was stationed at Fort Bliss TX, and after 5 years of service he returned to Winfield. On December 5, 2007, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jessica James. In 2017 he graduated from Southwestern College with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and theatre. Donnie owned and operated Blossoming Lotus, and his business idea blossomed during the pandemic, he wire-wrapped crystal jewelry and enjoyed making and selling his art. He enjoyed video games, reading, problem-solving puzzles and was a sous chef for many years, winning first in the world with the culinary arts team from Fort Bliss.
Donnie is survived by his wife Jessica, daughter Katelyn “Kat” Dutton, mother Ramona Dutton, brother David Dutton, brother-in-law Eric Wells, and mother-in-law Guadalupe Rivera and father-in-law Wylie James III.
He is preceded in death by his father and sister, Faith Michelle Wells.
