1948 - 2025
Donald Earl Gose, 77, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 27, 2025, at his home.
Born March 18, 1948, in Beattie, Kansas, he was the son of John Earl and Thelma Ruth (Betterton) Gose. He was raised and received his education in Marysville. He joined the United States Army and proudly served his country during Vietnam. He received an honorable discharge.
Don worked as an Asst. and Manager at various grocery stores and was the Assistant Manager at Boogaart’s in Winfield for many years. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching Chiefs football, bowling, going for walks, and playing cards, especially pinochle. He was a huge John Wayne fan. He loved having fun with his family.
He is survived by family which includes his children, Kevin Gose and wife, Jelinda of Odessa, FL; Jamie Gose and wife Michelle Hughes of Winfield; his brothers; David Gose and wife Dianna of Waterloo, NE, May (Jack’s wife) of Falls City, NE, and his grandchildren, Jaedon Gardner, Morgan (Gose) White, Lindsay Gose, and Bethany Gose; and a step granddaughters Ashley Addington and Jordan Hughes and former wife Deborah Swanson.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his son Shawn Alan Gose, siblings Louise Herring, Johnnie “Jack” Gose, Betty Zimmerman, Alvin L. Gose, Leota Wassenberg, and Jerry Gose, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.
A memorial has been established in Don’s name for funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
