1952 - 2025
Douglas A. Rathbun, 73, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Monday morning, August 25, 2025, at his home.
Born July 5, 1952, in Hays, he was the son of Alfred and Barbara (Loflin) Rathbun. His family moved with his father’s work until settling in Winfield where Doug graduated from Winfield High School in 1970.
He was united in marriage to Diana Askins on March 31, 1979 in Winfield where the couple made their home. Doug worked as a truck driver in many capacities at various companies including Coca Cola, Price Truck Line, American Freightways, Arkansas Freightways, and FedEx. He enjoyed black powder shooting, reloading, target shooting, and going to the gun shop.
His family includes his wife Diana Rathbun of Winfield; his father Alfred Rathbun of Leon; his children, Amy Ryan and husband, Dave of Bartlesville, OK; Josh Rathbun and wife, Lynsey of Enid, OK; Jill Yeagley and husband, Todd of Collinsville; Abigail Smith and husband, Aaron of Winfield; his brother Dave Rathbun and wife, Mary of Winfield; and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Joshua, Everett, Nadia, Zoe, Matilda, Brodie, and Abraham.
Doug was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Rathbun and a grandson Corbin Rathbun.
The family will hold private services at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
