Everett Lee Dixson
1933 - 2026

Everett Lee Dixson, 93, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.

Born February 14, 1933, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, he was the son of Barnabas and Tennessee Dixson. He was raised and received his education in Eufaula, graduating from Eufaula High School. In 1953, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country.

He was united in marriage to Catherine Tucker on February 17, 1973, in Wichita. The couple made their home in Wichita where Everett worked as a printer for Kansas Gas and Electric for over 25 years, until retiring. Catherine preceded him in death on August 27, 2011.

Everett was a devout Christian, serving the Lord through his singing, and teaching the Bible. In his younger years, he served as a Deacon at New Zion Baptist Church in Wichita, and more recently was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

His family includes his children, Deborah Slades of North Carolina; Beverly Denise Bell (Morris) of Raytown, MO; Kelly Tucker-Moody of Bloomington, MN; Nellie Woods of Wichita; Margaret Peach (Chris) of Wichita; Shirley Givens (Reuben) of Wichita; Gerald “Jewel” Hall of Wichita; Kathy Williams (Stephen) of Wichita; Marsha Givens (Earl) of Hutchinson; Willie Washington of Wichita; his sister Esther Blount of Wichita; and a host of grandchildren, family, and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Everett was preceded in death by a son Donny Lee Washington.

Graveside services with Military Committal Honors will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday from 10 AM to 4 PM and on Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 10 AM.
