Helene Vera Lynn, 77, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away February 24, 2025, at her home.
Born March 16, 1947, in Winfield, she was the daughter of Edward and Celestine (Gaiti) Dunn. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1965. She then attended Cowley County Community College.
She was united in marriage to Paul Lynn on February 3, 1967 at the First United Methodist Church in Winfield. Paul’s career as a minister took the couple to various places including Kankakee, Illinois; Howard, Kansas; Iola, Kansas; Richmond, Kansas; and Eagle Lake, Texas. Helene lived the life of a preacher’s wife, working in the churches. She was a loving caring mother, she treated others the way she would want to be treated. She also served as an Outreach Worker for Head Start. Paul preceded her in death on February 7, 2002. After Paul’s passing, Helene moved to Winfield to be near family.
She was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church in Wichita. She enjoyed cooking and going to the movies.
Her family includes her daughter Jennifer Lynn of Winfield, and her brother David Allen of Winfield.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert Dunn.
Private family services will take place at a later date under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
