Ira Francis Killgore, 53, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at his home.
Born May 23, 1972, in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Lemuel Francis and Beverly (Moore) Killgore. Ira was raised and received his education in Cheney, graduating from Cheney High School in 1990. Following high school, he attended Wichita State University.
On May 31, 2008, Ira was united in marriage to Shawna L. Whiteaker at Botanica in Wichita, Kansas. The couple made their home in Winfield. Ira held various positions working as service managers for HVAC companies, Air Capital Vending, Wichita Vending and Crane Payment Innovations. Shawna preceded him in death on July 2, 2024.
He enjoyed fishing, model railroading as well as spending time with his family.
His family includes his children, Tyler Killgore of Wichita; Renay Killgore of Wichita; Angelique Killgore and Brayden Killgore, both of Winfield; his sister Terresa L. Mountain of Topeka; and his grandchild Elliouse Hickman.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ira was preceded in death by his brothers Lemuel P. Killgore and Jerrod T. Killgore.
A service celebrating the lives of Ira and Shawna Killgore will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to support the couple’s young children as they grow. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
