Jack Branscum, 73, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025, at his apartment at Winfield Rest Haven.
Born November 10, 1951, in Marshall, Arkansas, he was the son of Albert Sherman and Molly (Modean) Branscum. His family moved to Colorado in 1958. There, he received his education, graduating from Soroco High School in Oak Creek, Colorado in 1969. He furthered his education first at Mesa College followed by Colorado State University where he received his Bachelor degree in Animal Science.
Jack worked for the railroad and the coal mine for a short time in Colorado, until getting a job as a rancher in Grenola, Kansas. He worked as a rancher for almost ten years. He then began his career with the Kansas Department of Transportation as a road worker, retiring in 2014.
He was a member of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship. As a young man, he loved to ride horses. He enjoyed driving around, telling jokes, and listening to country music. He enjoyed being a part of the McDonalds coffee guys for many years.
His family includes his children, Cassy Lester and husband, Allen of Loveland, CO; Tony Branscum and wife, Amanda of Cheyenne, WY; Jackye Hanika and husband, Jordan of Kechi; his siblings, Gloria Branscum of Gainesville, FL; Pattie Hoffmann of Troy, MO; Pamala Branscum and husband, Terry Wood of Winston-Salem, NC; his grandchildren, Austin, Ali, Alex, Chloe, Waverly; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a sister Karon Rosa and a nephew Bryan Konrad.
A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 2 to 6 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time. Graveside services will take place at Flatwoods Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas.
A memorial has been established in Jack’s name for the Winfield Veterinary Clinic. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
