Jesse Larimore, 62, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, January 20, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center.
Born August 13, 1962, in Sabetha, Kansas, he was the son of Irene White. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, where he attended high school. After school, he joined the United States Marine Corp. serving in both Italy and Germany. While in Italy, he was an extra in the movie LaPella.
After his honorable discharge from the Marines, Jesse returned to Winfield where he began his career at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center. He stayed with the State Hospital until their closing in 1996, when he transferred to the Winfield Correctional Facility. He remained with the facility until retiring in June of 2024.
He was united in marriage to Kara Spencer on September 14, 2007, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He was a member of the American Legion Post #10 in Winfield. He enjoyed scrolling on FaceBook and Tik Tok. He also enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles. Jesse was a talker who never met a stranger, he always had a story to tell.
His family includes his wife Kara Larimore of Winfield; his children, Leo Larimore of Winfield; Kailynn Larimore of Winfield; Lilly Larimore of Winfield; Jessica Larimore of Lawton, OK; Cory Larimore and wife, Kristen of Wichita; his grandchildren, Aspen and Madison Larimore of Wichita; Jayden Larimore and Kyler Rendall of Walters, OK; and his siblings, Teresa Sultz and husband, David of Winfield; Melinda King of Winfield; Rhonda Larimore of Winfield; Cheryl Larimore of Belle Plaine; David Larimore of Derby; and Lloyd Larimore of Salt Lake City, UT;
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by a son Jeremiah Atchison, and two siblings, Sid White and Debra Alberdean.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Jesse’s name for the American Legion Post #10. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
