John F. Hull
1945-2025

John F. Hull, 79, of Cambridge, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, April 8, 2025, at the Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor.

Born December 18, 1945 in Grenola, Kansas, he was the son of Ernest L. and Elma M. (Huggins) Hull. John was raised and received his education in Cambridge and Burden, graduating from Central of Burden High School in 1964. John continued his education at Cowley College.

In 1967, John married Joy Glick in Pratt. The couple had two children and later divorced. John worked for Coonrod & Waltz Construction; EBY Construction; Simplex Alarm Systems, and Raytheon. He retired in 1998. On December 18, 1998, he was united in marriage to Katherine D. “Kathy” Kloster in Toronto, Kansas. Kathy preceded John in death on April 23, 2016.

John was a member and Deacon of the Cambridge Presbyterian Church. He was a Master Mason, belonging to the Haysville Masonic Lodge #112. John was an avid fan of KU Men’s Basketball, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, being on the lake, and shooting off fireworks. John also loved leather working and building and remodeling things.

His family includes his children, Heather Hull of Plainville; Danny Hull of Grants Pass, OR; his step-children, Heather Graves and husband, Steve of Overland Park; Jon Felt of Wichita; Gerald Scott Sokerka of The Villages, FL; his grandchildren, Ashley Mewhinney; Madison O’Dea and husband, Logan; Emily Graves; his great grandson Jackson O’Dea; his siblings, Mark Hull of Cambridge; Marsha Rowe and husband, Chris of Newkirk, OK; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernie Hull, Jr.; Gene Hull; and Jeff Hull.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Thee Chapel, just east of Cambridge, under the direction of Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at the Cambridge Cemetery.

Memorials have been established in John’s name for the Alzheimer’s Association and the Cambridge Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
