1946 - 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Dean Mauk on January 24, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born August 9, 1946, in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of John Gilbert and Lois (Bailey) Mauk. He was raised in Douglass, Kansas, and graduated from Douglass High School in 1964. Larry was united in marriage to Carryl Ann Houser on October 10, 1964 at First Baptist Church, Wichita, KS. The couple made their home in Kansas City, where Larry worked as a railroad machinist for Sante Fe Railroad later Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for over 30 Years.
His family includes his ex-wife Carryl Mauk; his sons, Curt (Julia) Mauk, Jason (Elizabeth) Mauk, Jesse (Tisha) Mauk; his grandchildren, Kaitlin Gould, Lindsay Mauk, Hannah Rice, Jordan Mauk, Rachel Mauk, Caroline Mauk, John Mauk, Jared Mauk, Emily Mauk, Jesse A. Mauk, Ashley Mauk, Dawson Mauk; and his great grandchildren, Noah Gould, Sawyer Gould, Hazel Gould, Raven Mauk, and Oliver Mauk.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon, Bill, Milton (Buddy), Gene (Pete), and Terry Mauk, and sisters, Barbara Wheeler, Joanne Dennis, Eleanor Bloom, and Connie Stevenson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Douglass Christian Church under the direction of Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at the Douglass Cemetery.
